| Composting and Vermicomposting |
This free educational program will teach various methods of composting and offer an optional make-and-take worm bin (with worms) to take home for $10. 598 Guise Rd., Osteen (off Maytown Rd.) Explore the jewel of Volusia Conservation Lands. Hikers will experience diverse Florida habitats including pine flatwoods, xeric oak hammock, cypress dome and swamp, plus walk the shoreline of a natural piece of the St. Johns River.

Want to learn more about the intricate details and beautiful variety of flowers and see how they work? Dr. Bill Grey, Rollins College, will take you on a journey to the inner world of flowers in this laboratory class workshop. We will examine a variety of forms, colors and the “reproductive architecture” of one of the most diverse groups in the Plant Kingdom—the flowering plants. We’ll also “connect the dots” between flowers, fruits and seeds to see the magical goal of flowers.
