Training on the River
The St. Johns River is probably one of the best places for rowers to train. On a good day, we can row 15 to 20 Kilometers one way without having to worry about negotiating major turns. The wildlife is always there to keep us company (manatees, dolphins, and bald eagles to name a few). Some times it seems as if the animals are following us down the river. After nine years of rowing up and down this river, I am still suprised by some of the things that I have seen in the morning. The St. Johns river really is one of the most beautiful places in the world. - by Peter
